FOR THE CONSUMERWe wanted a continuous experience that was smart about your shopping habits. It would allow you to easily save items for later, get recommendations, see relevant deals and receive Store Cash from merchants. Store Cash offers are automatically applied if you check out with PayPal so no more copying and pasting discount codes.
SHOPPING CONTINUEDOne concept we explored was having a shopping assistant that would be omnipresent as you shopped and browsed your favorite merchants. The assistant would show you your Store Cash balance, exclusive deals and recommendations. On PayPal, you would be able to see your Store Cash balance for each merchant and items that you have saved.

THE MERCHANT PROBLEMAs a two-sided network, PayPal caters to both merchants and consumers. Through countless interviews and connecting with small business merchants, we found that increasing conversions was their main challenge. However, being able to know and identify who their customers were without the traditional methods of an email list was also extremely important.

FOR THE MERCHANTWe started by helping merchants identify shoppers that have left their site without making a purchase. Through a simple and frictionless campaign setup, we enabled merchants to create a targeted campaign that offered Store Cash to those abandoned shoppers. From there, we built a platform that allowed merchants to track their campaign performance and get actionable insights to grow their business.
